About Skagit Transportation |
|||||
The 1960's brought national recognition through contracts with major companies, who to this day remain dedicated customers of Skagit Transportation. Their 40 year history is a testimony to the principles of customer satisfaction and selfless service laid out by the Egbers brothers. Throughout the 1970's and 1980's, the company continued to grow with the addition of many local and national accounts. |
What we now know as Skagit Transportation grew under new ownership in the 1990's. The decade saw major growth for Skagit Transportation as they expanded into new areas, such as feed hauling, to local farms and feed stores. The company also diversified by opening a tanker division, hauling products such as corn syrup, concentrated juices, vinegar, and various wines. While given a new name, Skagit Transportation held strong to its roots; hiring local people out of the community and being the consistent, family-friendly employer that leads to exceptional service.
In 2006, Skagit Transportation purchased a company called Great Western Soil Conditioners. GWSC hauls treated biosolids from various county and municipality waste water treatment plants to multiple application sights located throughout Washington State for use as fertilizers. This new opportunity provided Skagit Transportation the ability to grow its year round business with less dependency on harvest work. In early 2008 Great Western Soil Conditioners merged into Skagit Transportation and operates under their authority. Today, Skagit Transportation is owned by the fourth group of partners since its inception in 1947. Tim Sullivan, Dan Boffey, and Pete Lanzendorfer continue their focus on food, agricultural, and biosolids transportation, meeting the needs and expectations of both their local and national clients. Now operating over 90 tractors and over 200 trailers, the current management is committed to building on the core business they have, while always looking for new opportunities that meet their goals and objectives, to insure the strength of the company for years to come. They are proud of the heritage of their company, standing on the principles of community dedication and employee welfare, as well as the guarantee of excellence which is as true today as when it was promised by the Egbers brothers over 60 years ago. They are proud of their drivers, management, and the staff who commit each day to make Skagit Transportation better, and to continue the reputation of a trucking company that consistently delivers above expectations. |
